- Stress fractures due to repetitive motions, overuse, or excessive force on bones
Patients often resist the fact that fractures can take from several weeks to a several months to heal. Pain usually stops long before the fracture is solid enough to handle the stresses of normal activity. By the time the bone is healed, the muscles may feel weak due to inactivity.
