Fracture Care

Below are the 3 most common causes of fractures that we see:

  1. Slip & fall, motor vehicle accident, or other physical trauma
  2. Weakening of bone density due to Osteoporosis
  3. Stress fractures due to repetitive motions, overuse, or excessive force on bones

Patients often resist the fact that fractures can take from several weeks to a several months to heal. Pain usually stops long before the fracture is solid enough to handle the stresses of normal activity. By the time the bone is healed, the muscles may feel weak due to inactivity.

Physical Therapy is an important follow-up in order to loosen the stiffened ligaments, strengthen the muscle and complete the treatment. Dr. Mike & his team will develop a program that will get you back to your normal activities as soon as possible.
